Immigration
All foreigners visiting, staying or carrying out activities in Mexico are subject to Mexican immigration law and regulations. Failure to comply with immigration provisions may be punishable by fine, prison and/or deportation. Acts (such as signing contracts, bids, permits or other public and private documents) performed in Mexico by foreigners not holding the proper visa may be rendered invalid (voidable).
Rosen Law advises and assists our foreign clients in processing and obtaining all types of applicable Mexican visas and immigration authorizations, including:
- Nonimmigrant visas such as FMNs (30-day business visas under NAFTA) and FM3s (360-day business visas)
- Immigrant visas, such as FM2s (“inmigrantes”), and permanent resident visas (“inmigrados”)
- Naturalization cards (Mexican citizenship by naturalization)
- Change of status, type and quality
- Defense of deportation actions on behalf of foreigners
